Neuro physiotherapist

Do I need a referral to see you?

No referral is required for private or NDIS clients. However, we will ask you to complete our New Client Referral Form before your first appointment. This helps us gather important information about your goals, medical history, support needs and funding so we can prepare the right care for you. If you are attending through Medicare or DVA, a referral may be required. If you are unsure, we are happy to guide you.

Do you accept NDIS participants?

Yes. We welcome all NDIS participants, including:

  • Self-managed
  • Plan-managed
  • NDIA-managed (agency-managed)

Do I need an initial physiotherapy assessment before starting AHA sessions?

Yes. A physiotherapy initial assessment is essential before starting any Allied Health Assistant (AHA) program. This allows the physiotherapist to understand your goals, assess your abilities and design a safe, personalised program for the AHA to follow.

Why are one or two follow-up physiotherapy sessions required before the AHA continues my program?

After the initial assessment, the physiotherapist will complete one or two follow-up sessions to train the AHA on your individual exercise or hydrotherapy program. This ensures the exercises are performed safely, correctly and confidently before the AHA continues providing ongoing support.

How often will the physiotherapist review my program?

A physiotherapy review will take place every 4 to 5 weeks. This allows your therapist to monitor progress, adjust exercises and ensure the program continues to meet your needs and goals.

Do I need a GP clearance for Hydrotherapy or Remedial Massage?

Yes. A GP medical clearance is required before starting hydrotherapy or remedial massage. This ensures your safety, especially if you have cardiac, respiratory or medical conditions affected by heat, exertion or water-based exercise.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your first session will include:

  • A conversation about your goals and challenges
  • A movement and functional assessment
  • A personalised therapy plan
  • Education and recommendations
You are welcome to bring a family member, carer or support person.

What should I bring to my appointment?

  • Any referrals, medical information or reports (if available)
  • Your mobility aids or usual walking equipment
  • Comfortable clothing and safe footwear
  • Your NDIS number if applicable

Do you offer home visits?

Yes. Home visits are available depending on location and therapist availability. Please contact us to check whether we service your area.

What is the role of the Allied Health Assistant (AHA)?

The physiotherapist designs your program and provides clinical direction. The AHA provides guided support to practice your program more frequently and consistently. This increases repetition, progress and confidence in daily life.

Do you offer hydrotherapy?

Yes. We provide one-to-one hydrotherapy in a warm-water pool to support mobility, flexibility, balance and relaxation. Hydrotherapy is particularly beneficial for pain, stiffness or fear of movement.

Do you provide clinical remedial massage?

Yes. Remedial massage is available to support muscle relaxation, pain relief, posture, circulation and recovery.
